8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Scrolled on my phone for about 2 hours, switching between playing my favorite current mobile game obsession called Umamusume: Pretty Derby, a game about famous Japanese horse racing. Scrolled mostly on Instagram as that has been my social media kryptonite as of late. Here’s a cute dog video: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DYiblO3TD-W/?igsh=MWdmNTF1NW1veGZtYg==
9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: I got ready for the day, which included checking Discord/text messages while multi-tasking, getting dressed/brushing my teeth and taking my medication.
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Headed out to the grocery store near my apartment, looking for anything savory to bring. I was successful in finding a family sized salad. I put in an order for Dunkin through their app on my phone as I needed my coffee for the day, still sipping it as I type this. Dunkin is my top coffee spot when I’m not at work because it’s just cheap, sugar water that keeps me awake.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Sat down and ate my sandwich and a muffin, as well as watched some Youtube because my partner was still at the gym by the time I got home. I watch a lot of game challenge videos as well as video essays, particularly MMDRE (RE9, But I Only Have 1 Inventory Slot ) and SuperEyepatchWolf (The Second Cruelest Video Game). After eating I opened my laptop to begin on this assignment. I had to watch the videos given to us that described how to buy our domain, create our blogs and get started on this assignment. $50 after taxes, here we are. YAY!
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Took a break for a bit since all of the words and pages on WordPress were making my head spin, so I decided to use my Nintendo Switch and play Tomodatchi Life: Living the Dream. Youtube is still playing in the background as I type this part of the assignment out.
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Scrolled through my Instagram feed for the good part of the last hour, being careful about sharing posts with not a lot of significant information, using my skills that we’ve learned so far in our first Module on how to be responsible with my platform.
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Made a request for an appointment online for a new dentist as I’ve been looking for one for awhile and a co-worker suggested theirs. So, after using Google to read certified reviews, I reached out.
3:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Took a nap before going out to meet friends for a birthday celebration in the park.”
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Commuted to the park, noticing a lot of advertisements for AI applications (much to my dismay) on the subway as well as other various poster advertisements for shows on TV, movies and Broadway Plays.
5:00 PM – 8:00 PM: I was at the park for the good part of 3 hours, hanging out and celebrating the birthday of our dear friend. We went to get ice cream at a place that was advertised to some of them on social media.
8:00 PM – 9:00 PM: My partner and I commuted home, scrolling through our phones, he was on Reddit and I was on IG. We took both the subway and the bus home, which again, had advertisements on them about different media both physical and tech wise on the walls of both the train cars and home.
9:00 PM – 10:00 PM: Settled in for the night, played some more of my mobile game on my phone, as well as my Switch before tucking in for bed.
I’ve noticed that I spend a lot of my time on Instagram/Discord. Instagram is a place where I look at a lot of updates on news since a good chunk of folks in my life use that platform. Discord is how I get in contact with my friends regularly and I use it to communicate more than texting. YouTube is background noise in my life, usually I keep it on through the day, it’s sort of like leaving the TV on in the living room. I also get news/updates from there through videos by highly respected channels that cover news (MoistCr1TikaL/Penguinz0).
