This week our assignment was meant to be something that challenges us, and unfortunately for me, it felt like dirty work. You all know how I feel about Artificial Intelligence doing the work for me. While I can understand that some people use it beneficially, I would much rather use my creativity in my brain folds than mess with writing that just, isn’t mine.
But I think partially why I believe this is dirty work is that I feel ashamed in the fact that I did have a little bit of fun with it. I’m a big fan of annotation, which was essentially what we had to do. Curating a little 250-300 word prompt and then essentially re-write or add editing to curate the final product and make it have personality. I wrote about how the vintage video game market, specifically for horror games, and how COVID-19 directly impacted the sales of these said games.
I fixed up a little of this and a little of that, added some specific headlines and articles that sufficed and voila! A whole assignment I did.. well, the computer did at least. Again, it felt, weird, even though I did *do* most of the work myself. AI is bound to make mistakes, I get why people may use it but it just doesn’t feel as sentimental as writing it myself. I have a lot more fun when I can just indulge in researching and writing my own projects. Safe to say, I, for my own sake and sanity, will avoid using it in the future (unless for an obligated task like school work requiring me).
Here is a link to my assignment on Google Docs if anyone would be interested in the outcome of this chaos: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1o-35y6IcpYgdhAdkQcXsKWz2QmHIBl_LUY4RRnLXNTk/edit?usp=sharing
Here is also an extra fun graph for your time, showing the influx of pricing during COVID-19. You can see there was a massive jump. I put this in my assignment document as well, but I’m gonna sprinkle it in here too.

Finally, here is the link to the site I used to do the original AI prompt: https://chatgpt.com/c/6a6a6d79-e2e4-83ea-a3cd-0a37fd730fdd
